Every Christmas, The Friends of Ripon Hospital hold a Christmas Draw where all the prizes are hampers. The contents of which are provided by the committee along with family and friends. Raffle tickets are sold in the hospital front entrance, They are also sold two mornings at Tate’s Garden Centre- the family are very supportive towards the hospital and provide the outdoor christmas tree , which this year was sited outside the palliative care unit.
All proceeds are put towards essential purchases for the hospital, this year it is for equipment for the Ophthalmology Department.
The committee also purchases Christmas presents and cards for all the in-patients, this is something that we have done for many years and is always appreciated by the patients.
The Friends also purchase chocolates and biscuits for every department – this includes the kitchen staff, porters and domestics, no one is forgotten. It is our way of saying Thank You for all that they do for the hospital.
We are always on the lookout for volunteers to come and help with the selling of tickets!
I realise it is a long time until Easter but we do also provide Easter Eggs for all the in-patients.
